On Saturday, September 18, we attended the "Písmena" event hosted by Army Muzeum Zdice. We had the pleasure to be part of the WWII U.S. camp together with KVH Tommy & Yankee z.s. Plzeň and KVH 612th Tank Destroyer Battalion z.s. Plzeň. Our display referred to the Northern France Campaign of 1944. In the tent we prepared a small exhibition showing the nurses' quarters. On a mannequin you could see a uniform and equipment used by American nurses during the Normandy landings. In front of the tent we put up a flysheet under which one could see original medical supplies. During the day we were able to make quite a few replicas of bandages and surgical sponges that we will use in the future. "Písmena" was our last public event in the Czech Republic this year.
