The Army Nurse Corps z. s. is a historical association made up of young women who share a passion for the history and culture of the United States in the 1940s and World War II. Our primary focus is the American Army nurses. The Army Nurse Corps has been an official branch of the U.S. Army since 1901. Our goal is to authentically portray the appearance, uniforms, equipment, and living conditions of nurses serving in American medical facilities during WWII. Through collecting historical items, traveling to significant sites, and speaking with veterans, we strive to recreate the past as faithfully as possible. We pay close attention to details such as hairstyles, makeup, and personal belongings. We want to show that women like us—nearly 80 years ago—had to endure far harsher conditions while working with the awareness that the lives of hundreds of soldiers depended on them.

Today, we are the only organized, all-female reenactment group portraying the Army Nurse Corps in Central Europe. Our ranks currently include 17 members and recruits from across the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, and Italy. Our activities include participating in historical reenactments at home and abroad, organizing static displays and lectures, and collaborating with historical institutions and organizations that promote American culture.

We are open to new collaborations.

Army Nurse Corps z. s. is a non-profit organization registered by the district court in Ústí nad Labem, Czech Republic.
