Exhibition Opening
On June 19, our representation took part in the grand opening of an exhibition about the Czechoslovak Independent Armored Brigade Group in World War II. The exhibition was prepared by the Regional Museum in Český Krumlov. We accompanied the boys from KVH 4th Armored Division US Army who portrayed the 94th Infantry Division. The 94th ID arrived in Czechoslovakia in mid-June of 1945 and relieved the 26th Infantry Division of occupation duties. In September 1945, a unique game between the U.S. Army's 22nd Corps and 94th ID took place in Český Krumlov, inaugurating the first postwar season of American football in the United States. On 22 November 1945, the division hosted the Thanksgiving dinner at the Růže Hotel which you can see in the pictures. The 94th remained in Czechoslovakia until early December 1945.
