The first U.S. Army nurses to arrive in Normandy in 1944 were members of the 42nd and 45th Field Hospitals and the 91st and 128th Evacuation Hospitals. They landed on the beachhead just four days after D-Day – at 3:30 p.m. on June 10.

June 6, 2020, marked 76 years since the Allied landings in northern France. We decided to mark the anniversary in uniforms typical of nurses in the ranks of the 1st Army serving in Normandy. We captured the short meeting in a few photos.
